Eight Micro Missions, each having pool of approximately 20 experienced officers and experts, work in mission mode to evolve solutions to policing problems.

The Micro Missions are working groups of experienced police officers and experts from across the country, who are tasked with the creation of policing related Projects for the Micro Missions that they are members of; further, they may also be involved in the development of various standalone SOPs/ Guidelines/ Study Reports. The output of these Micro Missions (which are further divided into sub groups, as per requirement) is shared with State/UT governments and CPOs/CAPFs/other police organizations for implementation. These reports are circulated individually as well as in the form of Compendium of Projects, and are also available on the BPR&D website https://bprd.nic.in

Eight Micro Missions have been formed and are listed below with broad areas of work indicated alongwith:

MM:01 Human Resource Development: (Police Population Ratio - Career Progression - Leadership – Accountability – Performance Evaluation – Training – National Police University – Attitudinal Changes – Welfare of Police Personnel, etc.) 

MM:02 Community Policing: (Involving Community in Policing – Police Interface with Media, Industry and other relevant segments, etc.)

MM:03 Communication and Technology: (POLNET–CIPA – Cyber Techniques – AI - Forensic Science – DNA- Narco Analysis, etc.)

MM:04  Infrastructure : (Buildings - official and residential, equipment and weaponry, etc.)

MM:05  New Processes (Process Re-engineering): (Ongoing Police Practices – Review and Impact analysis – Existing Best Practices – Innovations in India and elsewhere, and their adaptability – Procurement procedures – Delegation and Decentralization, etc.)

MM:06  Proactive Policing and Visualising Future Challenges: (Extremism and Naxalism – Mob Violence – Cyber Crime – Money Laundering – Narco-Terrorism – Human Trafficking, etc.)

MM:07 Gender Crimes and Gender-Related Issues (Women and Children): (Prevention Strategies - Investigation Techniques - Training & HRD - Prosecution and Victimology, etc.)

MM:08 Perception Management: (Challenges and Guidelines for image building of Police - Documentation of good work of Police and its dissemination -Processes for dealing with Media, etc.)
